The Selinda Concession is situated on the banks of the eastern Selinda
Spillway between the Okavango
Delta and Chobe National Park. It joins the Okavango
Delta with the Linyanti/Kwando waterways and follows the Selinda Spillway, a
dry river that connects the Okavango to the Chobe River. The Selinda, covers
some 1350 square kilometers.
Selinda is a derivative meaning "many small pools of
water" in the Khoesan language of northern Botswana.
This area has excellent game viewing and guests
can hope to enjoy good sightings of Elephant, Lion, Wild Dog as well as
all the plains game.
Night drives produce an abundance of nocturnal species. In recent times
the redirection of spillway waters has attracted large herds of buffalo
and prolific birdlife.
