Leeuwenvoet Guest House in Cape Town South Africa - Leeuwenvoet House is a lovingly restored Cape Victorian home which was built in 1892. The original house offers a fine example of the architecture of the period and has beautiful pressed steel ceilings and Oregon pine floors and doors. The site of the guest house marks the original position of the farmhouse of Leeuwenvoet farm. (Leeuwenvoet means “the foot of the Lion” and is pronounced in English approximately as “loo-en-foot”.)
We are situated twelve minutes’ walk from central Cape Town, about five minutes from the Company Botanical Gardens and adjacent to trendy Kloof Street, the fashionable restaurant district of Cape Town. The V&A Waterfront is only a few minutes away
Our breakfast has become well-known throughout the world and is a feast consisting of a platter of varied seasonal fresh fruit, croissants, bread rolls, toast, muffins, fruit juices, cereals, yogurt, cheese and cold meats. We also serve freshly cooked English breakfast comprising bacon, egg, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and fried potatoes or cooked vegetarian breakfast and freshly brewed coffee and tea. Have a leisurely breakfast any time between 07:15 and 10:30am.
Most of our comfortable beds are either king or queen size and our bed linen is pure cotton. All twelve bedrooms are fitted with independently controlled air-conditioners, ceiling fans and opening windows. All bedrooms have shower and toilet en-suite and three also have a bath.
We have a heated swimming pool, for your use, throughout the year.
We have more than thirty restaurants within easy walking distance from the guest house. The range of cuisine offered includes Seafood, African, Oriental, Indian, French and Italian. Prices range from R25 to about R90 for a main course and generally meals, including wine, cost about R100 to R250 per person.
